Pavement
September 12 2010 |
After a nine year hiatus, newly reunited indie rock band Pavement will make a stop in Saint Paul at The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Doors are scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m.
With their fractured songs, cryptic lyrics and unexpected blasts of feedback, Pavement were among the leaders of the lo-fidelity movement that dominated the American underground rock scene in the early 90’s. In Pavement’s initial ten year career, they released five full-length records and remained signed to an independent label throughout the entire span. The group disbanded in 1999, and is set to play their first show in over nine years this month.
They are touring in support of their latest album, “Quarantine The Past: The Best Of Pavement,” set to be released on March 9. The fully remastered 23-track compilation spans the entirety of Pavement’s career from 1989 to 1999. Simultaneously, they will be re-releasing their complete five album “Matador” LP catalog on vinyl.
