MGMT Show Moved to First Avenue
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium and Jam Productions announced today that MGMT, with special guest Kuroma, has moved to First Avenue on Monday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
All tickets purchased for MGMT’s Nov. 18 Roy Wilkins concert will be honored at the door at First Avenue — no need to refund or exchange your tickets. Ticketholders unable to attend the First Avenue performance can get a refund at point of purchase. If you have a ticket for the Roy Wilkins show but for some reason cannot attend the First Avenue performance, please do your best to refund it prior to Friday, November 15 so someone else will have an opportunity to attend – the First Avenue show will definitely sell out in advance.
MGMT is touring in new support of their self-titled new album MGMT. The new album has received widespread critical praise. Under The Radar hails the album as MGMT’s “most visionary and challenging album,” and Filter asserts that it “contains the same ingenuity fans have come to expect. The band still hold to no precedent but its own.” A collection of 10 diverse and powerful songs, the album is a result of MGMT’s experimentation with various in-studio writing processes and allowing the music to tell them where it wanted to go. Time notes, "As the band has matured so has their sound and the duo is moving past their Day-Glo party soundtrack tunes to create a more grown-up synth-heavy psychedelia,” and the Los Angeles Times declares that "Many [of the songs] are singalong catchy, but in their own surrealistic way."
MGMT are Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser.
